THE SHORT ANSWER
Start with one experience you care about per day. Include its full duration, protect the parts you love and leave time between destinations. Only add a second activity when you understand what it changes about the day.
- Start with
- One anchor experience
- Compare
- Time as well as price
- Keep
- Space to change your mind
Find the anchor, leave the edges open.
Begin with the reason you want to be in a place. Put that experience into the plan first. The remaining space does not need to be solved immediately.
A four-hour outing can shape much more than four hours of your day. You still have to reach the meeting point and decide what comes next. Our prototype checks activity overlap, but it does not calculate these local travel times.
Keep what matters before you adjust.
Use the lock beside an experience to keep it when asking the host for changes. This makes your priorities explicit. A calmer-day suggestion should work around what you have chosen to protect.
Read the proposed before-and-after and the group price difference. If it does not make your trip better, keep the plan you already have. Undo is there for a reason.
Ask the group one useful question.
Instead of asking everyone to list everything they want to do, ask each person to choose one thing they would be disappointed to miss. Then look at the plan together.
Check the duration, time of day and adult total. A plan that looks balanced on a screen may still have too many early starts for the people taking it.
Let the journey between places stay visible.
An empty travel day is intentional. Confirm transport independently before deciding whether to add anything to it. BeMyGuest’s example does not include transfers, travel-time calculations or accommodation.
If there is not enough room, remove a destination rather than disguising the transition as free time. Our recommendation is to favour a trip you can enjoy over a list you can finish.
A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS
Before you decide.
Does “slow” mean fewer experiences?
In this prototype it does: a slower starting plan includes fewer scheduled outings. The point is to make the choice visible, not to prescribe one right way to travel.
Does a plan without overlaps guarantee realistic timing?
No. Activity times can fit while the journey between their meeting points does not. The prototype detects activity overlap only; verify travel arrangements independently.
